Continental-Caoutchouc und Gutta-Percha Compagnie is
founded in Hanover on October 8 1871 as a joint stock company. Manufacturing at
the main factory includes soft rubber products, rubberized fabrics and solid
tires for carriages and bicycles. Continental is the first
company to develop air springs for trucks and buses and the first German company
to start manufacturing tubeless tires. Last years the company presents
innovations for the Fast-Growing Electric Mobility Market. Continental
reinforces its position as global tire manufacturer and currently has more than
2,200 tire retailers and franchises.
