generations providing quality, reliability and technology.
Trailer Company
Schmitz Cargobull was founded in 1892 by Melchior Schmitz in
Altenberge, thus the first production line of semi-trailers and containers was
established in 1935. The company expanded in Vreden in 1969 and an industrial
plant was built producing semi-trailer vehicles.
In 1978 works
extended and the exporting of trailers began from Zug (Czech Republic). In 1980
new production facilities were built in Altenberge and Berlin. In 1991
industrial facilities were established in Harelaw (UK). In 1997 the installation
of Schmitz-Gotha was organized. The satellite installation concept was
introduced in 1999 in Toddin (C), Panevezys, (Lith), Harelaw (UK) and in 2002 an
establishment was created in Saragossa (ESP)
